Description

The CHCSS00141 Child Protection Skill Set provides essential skills for community services professionals to support children, families and communities to be safe and well. This skill set is designed for people working in both child protection roles, early childhood roles, or community support roles. The skills imparted include, but are not limited to, identifying children at risk and responding; promoting the rights of children; working together to provide safe environments; and applying trauma-informed practice. As a result of completing this skill set, you will have the knowledge and practical skills to mitigate harm, advocate for vulnerable children and contribute to the community's wellbeing, safety and strength so children can thrive. This skill set is highly desirable for career development in child protection.

Additional Requirements

Student must be an Existing Worker in a front line service role involving direct contact with children, youth or families who hold a Certificate III qualification and may have a Certificate IV or higher level qualification.

This fee can be paid by an employer, a family member, a friend, or another organisation or a third party unrelated to the RTO but cannot be paid or waived by the RTO (whether directly or indirectly), unless approved in writing by the Department. The fee amount represents the total cost to the student, including any enrolment charges (e.g. ID card fees), tuition, services and materials fees, and all other mandatory costs related to delivering training, assessment, and awarding the Qualification. This also includes costs such as criminal history checks, where required for Vocational placement or employment in certain occupations.
